2015 was a year I will never forget.
This year I spray painted buildings with Elyse + Kevin, danced among the trees with Michelle + Jeff, channeled my inner Wes Anderson with Marina + Matt and even trekked through the mud with Dan (though Jess got to be carried!). Meredith‘s grandpa winked and waved at me during her entire wedding, he was the sweetest person I met in 2015. David + Lily taught me about tea ceremonies and what it means to throw a 430 person wedding. I experienced the ultimate humidity with Stefanie + James even though the smiles never melted from their faces. Sarah + Travis kissed in front of the red pandas and Lucia + Chris finally stopped being long distance.
Mara + Sergio posed with graffiti, Karen + Eric danced all night long (Eric really has some moves)! Though Ye-Ah + Tony traveled from South Korea after their wedding to host an American reception, Justine + Michael traveled the furtherest for their ceremony, coming to Cape May from Amsterdam to tie the knot, but Jenny + Nick had me daydreaming about Australia and Michael‘s family came all the way from Scotland to celebrate his union with Tara. I ended the year with Kate + Pete, two folks who I have a feeling will be my friends for life.
I could sit here all day writing about how much you all mean to me and how every one of your weddings stick with me. This year I have been witness to love stories that beat out sappy movies any day. Along the way I picked up a terrible case of poison ivy (note to self: look down before rolling around outside to get a great shot) and a beautiful broken hand (thanks to trying to dress my dogs in clothes, of course) but even through that it never stopped being fun. I drank a lot of iced tea, I sent a lot of e-mails and the wonderful Matt came with me on so many shoots to lend a hand and change some lenses (especially during the broken hand era).
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for a year of fun, adventure and new experiences. I hope you’re ready, 2016 couples, this group is going to be hard to top.
